Morocco flowing with inspiration
Anna Orska wrote another chapter of her travel story in Morocco. Stunning in color and very diverse, Marrakech tempted her with a wide range of unique art techniques, deeply rooted in Maghreb culture. It took her as many as five trips to delve into the secrets of the crafts. During her travels, the designer admired gebs (decorative plaster wall ornaments) and zellij (hand-cut ceramic mosaics), tried wood carving, and visited the workshops of weavers and fabric dyers. However, she was most impressed by metalwork workshops, where lamps with intricate openwork structures are created. Anna Orska decided to translate this non-jewelry craft into the language of jewelry.
Short necklace with richly decorated pendant and plated sapphires
The short necklace was handcrafted from nickel silver in a local Moroccan workshop . The master craftsmen in Marrakech cut out the intricate design and gave it an openwork texture, then deepened the relief to highlight the ornament. Wanting to emphasize the play of light and shadow, the jewelry was oxidized at the ORSKA workshop. The round pendant was decorated with two blue zirconias - a smaller, round one and a larger, teardrop-shaped one. Both zirconias are set in brass settings in a gold color contrasting with the whole. The pendant was suspended from an artistic necklace, which is formed by beads of silver and plated sapphire. The whole piece was decorated with a round ORSKA logo. The necklace also comes with a functional extension, thanks to which you can adjust its length.
How to style jewelry with sapphires
Sapphires in a deep blue color will form a harmonious duo with both gold and oxidized jewelry. Feel free to boldly combine it with other collections. A set with brass earrings from the Eternal collection will provide an interesting clash of cultures. The combination of the necklace with the gold-plated bracelet from the Baltica collection and the ring with amber will create an interesting mix not only of colors, but also of stones. Let yourself be carried away by the energizing eclecticism of Morocco!
