Interstellar Stories by ORSKA - the Meteoros jewelry collection
4.5 billion years ago the Sun was born, and along with it the planets and other celestial bodies were formed. As they collided, rocky debris traveled through space, sometimes reaching our atmosphere as bright, luminous streaks - shooting stars. That is how the Meteoros collection was inspired. To emphasize the sparkling brilliance and unearthliness of meteorites, we framed them in irregular forms, made using the cast silver method. Meteorites are the oldest raw material on Earth and the most unique jewelry material. In the Meteoros collection, we used fragments of Aletai and Campo del Cielo meteorites and tektites, bringing cosmic energy directly to Earth.
Silver necklace with tektite
We made the necklace by hand in our studio. A delicate ball chain, made of sterling silver, was decorated with a unique pendant. A fragment of black tektite - an unconventional material thousands of years old, which was formed by the impact of a meteorite colliding with the Earth's surface - is the most important element of the necklace. The irregular texture and oval shape of tektite resemble the surface of distant celestial bodies. The "stone" pendant was suspended from the ring of a hand-formed toggle clasp, which adds an artistic touch to the necklace. The shiny surface of the silver clasp contrasts with the raw form of the pendant. In addition, the necklace was decorated with a round pendant with a double-sided inscription: "unique and tektite" on the obverse and "790,000" on the reverse, as well as a small ORSKA logo.
Tektites or so called secondary meteorites, like natural stones, are unique, so they may differ slightly from those shown in the photos, making each necklace from the Meteoros collection one of a kind.
Tektites - secondary meteorites in ORSKA jewelry
Tektites, used in the Meteoros collection, were formed as a result of a meteorite hitting the Earth's surface about 790,000 years ago. They are a unique jewelry material because they are formed on Earth during the extreme conditions that accompany meteorite collisions. Tektites such as indochinites - dark, glassy formations found on the Bolaven Plateau in southern Laos - are captivating in their deep black color. They are composed mainly of silica, aluminum, iron and magnesium oxides, which gives them a distinctive appearance reminiscent of volcanic glass. The tektite necklace is an excellent choice for those who appreciate original jewelry and unconventional materials. It will be perfect as an element of distinctive modern styling, adding a mysterious and elegant touch.
