Guatemala Collection – a journey to the land of jadeites
The Guatemala jewelry collection is a journey to the heart of Central America, where time flows differently, the past intertwines with the present, and traditional craftsmanship, passed down through generations, thrives. In Guatemala, Mayan traditions still shape daily life: jade was a talisman that provided strength and protected life, while weaving was a language of women, preserving the history of place, people, and beliefs in intricate patterns. As part of the “Crafts of the World” series, Anna Orska seeks local crafts from across the globe, turning them into artistic jewelry. In Guatemala, she met local masters who introduced her to the world of jade and weaving. This inspired jewelry where raw stone and colorful textiles meet geometric silver and gold-plated forms. Every detail reflects harmony, energy, and centuries of craft tradition, while also inviting the wearer to create their own personal story.
Silver collar necklace with black jadeite from the Guatemala Collection
This rigid, striking collar is made of 925 sterling silver. The elements gently wrapping around the neck have a brushed finish. The necklace includes an extender chain for adjustable length, finished with the ORSKA logo. The centerpiece is a prominent pyramid-shaped pendant holding a black jadeite stone. The polished stone is framed by geometric brushed silver. The jadeite was hand-cut by Master Stanislavo in his Guatemalan workshop, transforming raw, irregular blocks into stones with exceptional color, shine, and minimalist geometric forms.
Jadeite – Mayan amulet and the heart of Guatemala
In the volcanic mountains of Guatemala, jadeite deposits were formed over thousands of years. This stone has long symbolized harmony, protection, and strength. For the Mayans, it was more than decoration: an amulet, a totem, and a symbol of balance between body and spirit, and between the human and the unseen. In the hands of the master, the jadeite is polished to a high shine, revealing its depth, natural color, and unique inclusions, making each piece one-of-a-kind. The Guatemala collection features jadeite in black, white, pink, and green. In Mayan culture, a distinction exists between general green and green jadeite: jadeite represents power and sacredness, while green symbolizes life and harmony in nature.
