ORSKA IS PEOPLE
Each piece of ORSKA jewelry is finished or created from scratch by a team of jewelers and enthusiasts in our Poznań workshop. Before they find their way into your hands, earrings, rings, bracelets and necklaces are born under the watchful eye and gentle touch of our craftsmen. Every day, it takes many pairs of hands to make sure that you will receive a completed down to the smallest detail and perfectly prepared piece of art. Although everyone specializes in a different area, everyone agrees that hand work has an addictive energy.
The ORSKA workshop is filled with life and creative energy. Around every corner, there can be found professional tools and components that turn into jewelry thanks to the careful work of our craftsmen. Natural stones lie beside the synthetic, made from recycled plastic, and right next to them there are irregular pearls brought straight from Vietnam. Sailing ropes have settled in the closet together with the old watch mechanisms and watchmaker’s screws. The uproar is caused by the hot flames of jewelry burners and the ubiquitous sparkling metal filings. The whole is accompanied by the characteristic sounds that create the unique atmosphere of this place: from the scratching of a grinder to the rhythmic tapping of a hammer.
FROM IDEA TO PRODUCT - HOW JEWELLERY IS MADE
In the beginning, there is an idea that comes from careful observation of everyday life: the beauty of nature, the unobvious charm of seemingly unnecessary things, or the pricelessness of rare crafts performed in the workshops of the world. Under the influence of inspiration, the first sketches are drawn which then take the form of prototypes. Each collection is created in a slightly different way. Everything that happens at this stage is the result of carefully selected technology and materials, and the reliable intuition and knowledge of the artisans working on the designs. Each collection requires a different technique of adding the texture and finishing to the metal. Some projects benefit from unevenness obtained as a result of forging, bending or melting the metal, while others require satin finishing or high gloss polishing. Each design turns imperfectly perfect thanks to a different process. Some collections are created in the casting technology, others in the 3D printing process, and others are cut from brass sheets and joined with watchmaking screws. We are constantly looking for new technologies and materials. Our most recent experiment have resulted in a synthetic stone made of post-industrial plastic.
