Crafts of the world: the Kembali jewelry collection

Kembali in Indonesian means return. The name of the collection encapsulates not only the name of the place where the handmade jewelry was created, but also refers to designer Anna Orska's return to the island of flowers. The artist visited Bali again after nearly eight years, but the once familiar place turned out not to be the same anymore. Many things had changed - first of all, most of the workshops that had prospered during her first trip had disappeared. Faced with the changes, the designer based her Kembali jewelry collection on unchanging things, returning to the Balinese roots: rituals, crafts and nature.

Snake necklace with natural stones

The snake-shaped necklace was carved by Balinese masters for several hours in rose wood. Directly from Bali, the intricately carved dark-colored pieces arrived at the ORSKA workshop. Jewelers assembled them into a string and interlaced each piece with electroplated hematite. The whole composition was finished with gold-plated brass elements: a convenient snap hook, a plate with the engraved inscription "Limited Edition" and the ORSKA logo. Particularly noteworthy is the snake's head with finely crafted small elements: eyes and mouth, in which you can see a gold-plated tongue passing into the pendant of the necklace.

The long necklace will work well in both women's and men's closet. You can wear it in three ways - as a long chain, as a short double chain wrapped around the neck, or as a long tie necklace (fastened in the middle). The necklace can be worn classically, in front - it will work well with loose shirts, as well as with fitted turtlenecks or evening dresses. But impressively and originally will present itself hanging freely on the back - it will attract the eyes and stand out from the crowd.

Snake in the Kembali collection - a positive symbol

Ode, or snake, is a metaphor for transformation in Bali, which is supposed to lead to betterment. It carries the message to let go of what no longer fits us and make room for the new. It is also a symbol of wisdom, immortality, energy and vitality. Although in the Christian religion it is associated with temptation, positive references can also be found in our culture - just think of the Aesculapius snake (symbol of doctors and apothecaries), which has been associated with recovery since ancient Greek times. The snake adorns many jewelry designs from the Kembali collection and is its dominant motif. You'll find the snake in both a short hibiscus necklace and hanging earrings with a lotus flower. However, the most striking will be the jewelry in which the snake is the only inspiration: silver rings with a snake that impressively wraps around the finger, long earrings made of snake links or bracelets made of rosewood.
