Moroccan inspiration at ORSKA workshop
During her travels in Morocco, Anna Orska visited several workshops. In each of them she had the opportunity to learn about the craft not only in theory, but also in practice. However, it was the metalwork workshop and traditional lamps created from metal that stole her heart. The artist designed patterns for necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings on thin paper, and then local masters hand-cut and embossed them in metal. The result was intricate, openwork compositions richly decorated with delicate flowers, leaves or intertwined vines. It was in this technique, with the rhythmic clatter of hammers and the buzz of jewelers' saws, that the Morocco jewelry collection was born.
Short necklace with blue aquamarines and sapphires
The short necklace was handcrafted from blue natural stones, oxidized silver and zirconia set in a gold brass setting. The large pendant on the front and the small one at the clasp were created in a local Moroccan workshop. The masters in Marrakech cut out the floral pattern and gave it an openwork structure. In order to emphasize the play of light and shadow, the elements were oxidized in the ORSKA workshop and gained a graphite color contrasting with the stones in shades of blue. The whole piece was finished with a lobster claw clasp, a few centimeter extension and a small ORSKA logo.
Sapphires and aquamarines - the perfect stones for...
The calming effect of the color blue has made sapphires and aquamarines a symbol of loyalty and trust. The gentle blue of natural aquamarine evokes associations with the smooth surface of the sea. These stones were once called the treasure of mermaids. Sailors used them as a talisman to bring good fortune and courage. Jewelry inspired by the treasures of Morocco is a great gift idea for travelers, to whom it will bring good luck and protection.
