Moroccan metalwork - artisanal inspiration

Anna Orska's travel stories are constantly being updated with new chapters. The latest one she wrote in the delightful colors and scents of Marrakech. It took her as many as five trips to delve into the secrets of the crafts. During her travels, the designer admired gebs (decorative plaster wall ornaments) and zellij (hand-cut ceramic mosaics), tried wood carving, and visited workshops of weavers and fabric dyers. However, she was most impressed by metalwork workshops, where lamps with intricate openwork structures are created. Made in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, they stun with the richness of decoration. At night, illuminated by light, they scatter it, creating fabulous patterns. Anna Orska decided to translate this spectacular craft into the language of jewelry.

Long chain necklace with decorative pendant and zircons

The long necklace was handmade from brass. The fine link chain is decorated with three blue zirconias in a gold setting. Three more stones add sparkle to the original pendant, which was created in a Moroccan workshop. The floral design is inspired by local lamps, which are richly decorated with flowers, leaves and vines. The Marrakech masters cut out intricate ornaments, giving the whole design an openwork structure. Wanting to emphasize the play of light and shadow, the jewelry was oxidized in the ORSKA workshop, which gave it an original graphite color. The long extension allows you to conveniently adjust the length. The whole piece is closed with a lobster claw clasp. The skillful combination of accents in different colors makes the traditionally Moroccan-style necklace stand out with a modern twist characteristic to the ORSKA brand.
