The sky is not the limit

The Nepal collection leads back to where it all began. It was in Kathmandu that Anna Orska found her own way of designing, based on learning the craft at the source, gaining knowledge through practice, and authentic collaboration with local masters. One of the first to open this world to her was Ramesh, a master of repoussé. Ten years later, the designer stood by his side again. To the rhythm of thousands of hammer blows, the elements of a collection were created, a reminder that sometimes a change of perspective is enough to see a new direction. Because above the clouds, there are no beaten paths, only those we dare to chart.

The pin is made of silver-plated brass. The repoussé ornaments, in the form of twisting vines, are the work of master craftsmen from a local Nepalese workshop, who also created our first collection from this location. The artisans embellished the surfaces of the metal elements with a convex, precisely stamped relief. From the Kathmandu Valley, the decorated elements were brought to the ORSKA workshop, where jewelers added polished labradorites.

Each pin is handmade, so individual pieces may differ slightly in size and ornamentation from the one shown in the photo, a sign of authenticity and a vibrant, artisanal tradition.

Repussage - a craft passed down from generation to generation

The rhythm of the Kathmandu Valley workshops is set by the steady clatter of hammers. It is here that the Newars have been perfecting the art of repoussé for centuries: they shape thin sheet metal from the reverse side, strike after strike, extracting convex ornaments and expressive textures from the metal. Then they refine the design from the front: deepening the lines, refining the contours, and using steel punches and chisels to give it its final character. In this tradition, ornaments are a carrier of memory. Knowledge of their creation has been passed down from father to son for centuries, and the handicraft method is similar to that of centuries past.
