Traces of man and nature in Baltica jewelry collection
Nature, creating the most beautiful landscapes, leaves its traces in the form of riverbeds, majestic mountains and unique rock formations. Man also makes his mark on the world, through language, poetry, architecture and painting. Unfortunately, his activities are not always positive - excess carbon dioxide in the air, microplastics in the seas and tons of trash on the ground are infamous signs of our presence. The Baltica collection is a combination of traces of nature and humanity. We contrasted gold-plated brass, amber, and works of the Earth, with the creations of human activity. This surprising combination reminds us of the duality of our actions - we create beauty, but also pollution. Elegant geometric forms from the Baltica collection deliberately put them in the spotlight to remind us of our impact on the planet.
Openwork geometric ring with amber
We made the ring from the Baltica collection from gold-plated brass and transparent amber. The ring has the form of a circle. One of its halves is hollow, so it has a light, openwork character. The other is filled with amber in a warm honey color. Through the gold stone, as if through a glass, peeks an engraving of a tiny insect, which resembles a natural inclusion. The front of the ring is decorated with a hammered finish, contrasting with the rest in a satin aesthetic. With its geometric form and wide band, the ring has a minimalist, contemporary feel.
We used natural amber when creating the ring, making each piece unique. No two rings are alike, just as no two ambers are alike.
What is amber valued for?
Amber has fascinated people with its beauty for centuries. It has delighted people with its variety of colors, shapes, structures and... inclusions. The most precious golden stones contain fragments of the world from about 40 million years ago. They are like time capsules - thanks to the solidified resin we can observe traces of the past. In the past, amber was valued not only for its aesthetic qualities, but also for its protective properties. It was believed to bring good luck and protect from evil. Today, amber continues to impress with its history and natural beauty, making a perfect addition to handmade jewelry. If you want to learn more about this remarkable stone, take a look at our blog.
