Creating the most beautiful landscapes, nature leaves its traces in the form of riverbeds, colorful natural stones or majestic rock formations. Man also makes his mark on the world, creating language, poetry, architecture and painting. However, his activities are not always so positive - excess carbon dioxide in the air, microplastics in the seas and tons of waste on the ground are infamous signs of our presence. The Baltica jewelry collection is a combination of traces of nature and humanity. We contrasted gold, brass and amber, works of the Earth, with the creations of human activity. This surprising combination reminds us of the duality of our actions - we create beauty, but also pollution. The Baltica collection is an invitation to reflection. What trace will you leave behind? What will you imprint on nature?

Geometric earrings with light and dark amber

We created the striking earrings by hand at the ORSKA manufactory. We shaped the gold-plated forms into geometric compositions and decorated them with two ambers, set in contrast. A round, lemon amber, closed in a frame with a satin surface, we placed on a post made of gilded silver. Below, on a geometric mount, we placed a square, transparent amber in a darker cognac color framed in forged gold-plated brass. Through the transparent amber you can see the engraving of natural inclusions (a small spider on one earring) and contemporary artifacts of human activity (on the other earring). The ambers vary slightly in color, so each piece is unique.

Jewelry with amber - prophecy or warning?

Anna Orska uses amber as a carrier of important ideas. In her Baltica jewelry collection, she juxtaposed it with a stone made from fishing nets fished from the Baltic seabed by the Mare Foundation and fishing organizations as part of the annual sea cleanup campaign. In the Baltica collection, on the other hand, the golden stone became a time capsule that allows us to look into the future and reflect on the impact of man on Earth. The traces of nature versus the traces of mankind: will they work together or cause dissonance? We don't yet know what will be left behind, but we can guess that instead of flora and fauna we will leave a mass of indestructible artifacts of homo sapiens. The Baltica collection reminds us that our fate is still not sealed. For a while yet, we still have a say in how our future will turn out.
