ORSKA
Baltic stories written in two stones

In the Baltica collection, we reached for amber, the undisputed symbol of the Polish coast, and looked at it from a new perspective. The raw stones, brought ashore by the Baltic waves, were polished in a family workshop on the Vistula Spit, and then found their way to the ORSKA atelier, where they were framed in brass forms with geometric shapes. The minimalist setting subtly highlights the natural beauty of the sea gem. The stones we chose, in various shades - from milky through honey and cognac to green and multicolored - are distinguished by their irregular structure, interesting color palette, and sometimes even tiny inclusions. Amber from the Baltica collection is diverse and interesting.

Second life of abandoned fishing nets

We juxtaposed the natural amber with the synthetic stone, which was created in the studio of the Boomplastic team. Its story, however, begins earlier, at the bottom of the Baltic Sea, where abandoned or lost fishing ropes and nets are fished out every year by the Mare Foundation and KGPR. Anna Orska, together with Olga Sarna, president of the Foundation and ambassador of the collection, carefully selected marine waste in green. The cleaned and ground material was thermally processed. This resulted in striking green stones, which, along with amber, are the star of the collection.

The past and the future

Baltica jewelry is a metaphor for the future, in which what was created millions of years ago coexists with what will remain for hundreds and perhaps thousands of years. The jewelry story juxtaposes a stone that was created millions of years ago through the forces of nature with a stone that took man just a moment to create. The contrast and duality of the collection is meant to remind us that there is still much we can do, that it is not too late to take action to reverse the gloomy forecasts predicting the extinction of the Baltic Sea.
