Nepal jewelry collection - ornament struck millimeter by millimeter
The heart of the Nepal jewelry collection is repoussé, a traditional technique of decorating metal, perfected for centuries by Newari craftsmen from the Kathmandu Valley. Repoussé begins with a thin sheet of metal. The craftsman works from the underside, striking the contoured points with a hammer. Each strike shifts the sheet by a fraction of a millimeter, gradually revealing a raised relief on the other side. The piece is then turned over and chiseled from the front: lines are deepened, contours are accentuated, and the finest details are meticulously refined. Creating a single ornament requires hundreds, sometimes thousands, of strikes and many hours of focused work. In the Nepal collection, hand-repoussed vines, leaves and lotus petals cover earrings, necklaces, wide bracelets, rings, signet rings and brooches. The reliefs are complemented by natural labradorites and raw Himalayan crystals. This centuries-old technique from the Kathmandu Valley is given a contemporary form in ORSKA jewelry.
Necklace with a geometric pendant from the Nepal collection
A delicate pendant hangs from a delicate 925 silver ball chain. It consists of three large, flattened links, the edges of which are adorned with a floral ornament. The necklace has an extension cord with the ORSKA logo, allowing for adjustable length.
Nepal Collection - jewelry gifts for her and him
The Nepal collection offers many gift ideas for her and him. Hand-repoussed ornaments, geometric shapes, and graphite finishes give the jewelry a unisex character, so you can choose the individual designs to suit the recipient's style. A delicate necklace with a geometric pendant, paired with a repoussé band or a labradorite bracelet, is a great gift for a man. Those who appreciate more expressive jewelry will appreciate a long necklace with a round medallion, drawing attention with its rich handcrafted ornamentation. This necklace also works perfectly as the longest element in a cascading arrangement. Closer to the neck, you can wear a delicate chain with asymmetrical pendants or a short string of labradorites, and between them, place a medium-length necklace with a small, geometric pendant. The varying levels will allow each ornament to stand out and visually elongate the figure. A repeating labradorite or the same floral relief motif will provide cohesion to the set. You can also combine gold-plated and graphite finishes to create a more modern composition.
