The light of Morocco - travel inspiration

Morocco delights with its colors, flavors and richness of crafts, which caught Anna Orska’s attention. The designer traveled to this African country several times to choose from various techniques the one she would translate into jewelry forms. She was most impressed by the local lamps, made of metal according to the traditional technique. The pattern, designed on thin paper, is pasted onto a metal sheet and then hand-cut and repoussed. The result is an intricate, openwork composition, which decorates huge and sometimes very small areas. It was in this technique, with the rhythmic clatter of hammers and the buzz of jewelers' saws, that the Morocco jewelry collection was born.

Asymmetrical stud earrings with blue zirconia

The earrings were handmade from silver in a Moroccan workshop. The Marrakech masters cut out the intricate shape and gave it a lace-like texture, then deepened the relief to highlight the ornament. Wanting to emphasize the play of light and shadow, the symmetrical earrings were additionally oxidized at the ORSKA workshop, and the brass settings were decorated with a sea blue stone. The earrings are asymmetrical. In addition, a double delicate chain was attached to one of them, finished with a stone of a similar blue color. The floral pattern was inspired by traditional Moroccan lamps, which, according to Islamic tradition, are richly decorated with flowers, leaves or finely intertwined vines. Thanks to the play of symmetry and asymmetry, the design has gained the distinctive style of the ORSKA brand.
