Crafts of the World - inspiration from travel
While traveling in Morocco, Anna Orska visited several workshops. In each of them she had the opportunity to learn the craft not only in theory, but also in practice. Under the watchful eye of the maallem, or master, she created, among other things, her first zellij. However, it was the metalwork workshop and the traditional lamps created from metal that stole all her attention. Moroccan lanterns are objects of extraordinary detail and quality. Traditionally designed to be illuminated by candlelight, today they use electricity, but have additional power. In Morocco, they are believed to fill the room with barakah, or a state of spiritual grace. The designer has interpreted and adapted floral patterns in an original way, transferring them from the surface of the lamps directly onto the jewelry designs.
Necklace with lace pendant and decorative toggle clasp
The short necklace was handmade from brass. The circular pendant was created in a local Moroccan workshop. Master craftsmen in Marrakech cut out the intricate design and gave it an openwork structure, then deepened the relief to highlight the ornament. Wanting to emphasize the play of light and shadow, the jewelry was oxidized in the ORSKA workshop. The wide-link chain is adorned with three blue zirconias in gold-colored brass frames. In addition, the same zirconia was suspended from the ethnic pendant. Thanks to the skillful combination of accents in different colors, the necklace in a traditionally Moroccan style stands out with a contemporary twist. The whole piece is closed with a decorative toggle clasp at the front and completed with a small ORSKA logo.
How to style oxidized jewelry?
Create your own sets and wear the short necklace with blue zirconia with the rest of the jewelry from the Morocco collection. Decorating your neckline with a necklace and additionally wearing short stud earrings, you will create a tasteful set that will work in any situation. However, oxidized jewelry in graphite color from the Morocco collection looks most beautiful in contrasting combinations. So boldly combine it with other collections. A duet with brass earrings from the Eternal collection will provide an interesting clash of cultures. And the combination of the necklace with the gold-plated bracelet from the Baltica collection and the ring with amber will create an interesting mix of not only colors, but also stones. Let yourself be carried away by the energizing eclecticism of Morocco!
