Repusé jewelry from the Nepal collection
Jewelry from the Nepal collection was born from the decision to return to the place, technology, and people met years ago. The return became an opportunity to expand on this story and discover what a familiar place can reveal today, what could not yet be seen during the first trip. The collection's repoussé pieces were created in two Nepalese workshops. Strike by strike, millimeter by millimeter, local artisans extracted embossed metal ornaments, leaving a unique handprint in each piece. The richly decorated components were brought to our jewelry studio, where they were transformed into earrings, necklaces, bracelets, brooches and rings. The Nepal collection is expressive, sculptural, and full of detail. Gold-plated brass gives the jewelry a warm glow, while silver-plated and oxidized alpaca gives it a deep, graphite hue that highlights the texture of the reliefs. The ornaments are complemented by natural labradorites and raw Himalayan crystals with unique facets and inclusions.
Richly decorated bracelet from the Nepal collection
The bracelet is made of alpaca, which was silver-plated and then oxidized. The bracelet is composed of several asymmetrical elements connected by links, each covered with plant vines. The central element is crowned by a smoothly cut labradorite, known as a stone of perspective. Its surface reveals new colors as it moves, reminding us that seemingly familiar things can surprise us with a completely different side, simply by looking at them from a different perspective. The bracelet's length can be delicately adjusted thanks to an additional extension ending with a charm featuring the ORSKA logo.
Nepalese stories depicted in ornaments
The plant motifs covering the jewelry from the Nepal collection are not accidental. They stem from Buddhist and Hindu aesthetics, in which each element of the ornament has its own meaning. The winding vines symbolize the continuity of life, growth, and the uninterrupted cycle of rebirth. The artisan who creates such a pattern doesn't create it from scratch, but works within a language developed by their predecessors, adding their own touch. Spirals, present in many of the collection's pieces, represent life energy, the movement of the universe, and an infinite journey—a motif particularly resonant throughout the collection. Tiny leaves and petals, reminiscent of lotus leaves, allude to rebirth and purity. These symbols appear in various guises in the jewelry from this collection.
