Guatemala jewelry collection – crafts from around the world

For the past 10 years, designer Anna Orska has traveled the world seeking unique craftsmanship to tell stories through jewelry about handcrafts passed down through generations. A signature element of each collection in the Crafts of the World series is created in a different part of the globe. ORSKA visits local artisans, learns their traditional techniques, and collaborates with them to create jewelry inspired by the culture of each location. The Guatemala collection was born in the heart of Central America, where the earth breathes to the rhythm of volcanoes, and knowledge of traditional craftsmanship is passed down from generation to generation. The main focus is jade — a stone that for centuries has symbolized harmony, protection, and strength in the local culture. For the Maya, it was an amulet, a sign of balance between body and spirit, between the human world and the unseen. For ORSKA, it became the inspiration for a jewelry collection in which colorful jade stones are set in gold-plated and silver geometric forms. The collection is completed with bracelets and necklaces made of golden obsidian, often considered a protective stone. All stones in this collection are hand-processed by master Stanislavo in Guatemala, who, using traditional methods in his home workshop, brings out the shine and color from raw, irregular stones.
