Guatemala Collection: Fabrics Full of Color

The Guatemala Collection was born from a fascination with Guatemalan weaving – an art that has lived in the hands of K'iche' Maya women for generations. In the town of Chichicastenango, fabric is more than material – it is a language, an alphabet of memory, a record of history. Every color, every weave has meaning: red speaks of the strength of the earth, blue of the sky and water, yellow of the sun and fertility. The same fabrics that adorn the bracelet cuffs in the Guatemala Collection became the inspiration for a limited line of kimonos. Dyed and handwoven in Guatemala, and sewn in Poland, the kimonos combine tradition with modernity, spirituality with everyday life. In the Guatemala Collection, ORSKA creates jewelry and clothing that carry the memory of centuries – yet are open to a new story, now with you as the heroine. It is a statement that fashion can be memory, and color a narrative of tradition and feminine strength.

Short Purple-Fuchsia Kimono from the Guatemala Collection

This short kimono was created from fabrics woven and dyed in the town of Chichicastenango in Guatemala. The smooth surface of the kimono in an intense purple-fuchsia color is enlivened by characteristic stripes running down the center of the back, at the front tie, and on the upper and lower parts of the sleeves. The lining, used in the spirit of less waste, features a matching fuchsia shade. The kimono was sewn in Poland in a size that fits silhouettes from S to XL perfectly. The set includes an elegant brooch made of gold-plated brass with the ORSKA logo.

Colorful Fabrics from Guatemala – An Alphabet of Memory

The vibrant fabrics from Guatemala are not just fashion – they are an alphabet of memory, recording the history of families, places, and daily life. The limited kimonos are a contemporary transformation of this heritage – a manifesto of feminine presence that transcends generations. Every weave is a story you can wrap around your body. Wear it with care and add your own chapter.

How to Wear a Kimono – The Art of Everyday Ceremony

The kimono – a symbol of Japanese harmony and simplicity – becomes a canvas on which the colorful fabrics of Chichicastenango tell their story. The contrast between its minimalist form and the richness of color creates a versatile garment that carries echoes of ceremony. On a daily basis, minimalist models pair beautifully with jeans or a simple dress, adding lightness and casual elegance. In winter, the kimono can stylishly replace a warm sweater, and in spring and autumn it works as a chic outer layer. It is the essence of “dopamine color” – bringing energy and Central American joy even in the grayest months. For those who like to stand out, bold options in contrasting shades of fuchsia, yellow, and violet have been created. Simply add an original pin from the Guatemala Collection or a statement jade necklace to the kimono to attract even more attention – and compliments.
