Collection Guatemala – a journey full of colors
The Guatemala collection was born from a fascination with Guatemalan weaving – an art that has lived for generations in the hands of K’iche’ Maya women. In the town of Chichicastenango, fabric is not just a material – it is a language, an alphabet of memory, a record of history. Every color, every weave carries meaning: red speaks of the strength of the earth, blue of the sky and water, yellow of the sun and fertility. The same fabrics that adorn the Guatemala collection cuff bracelets inspired the creation of a limited line of kimonos. Dyed and woven in Guatemala, then sewn in Poland, the kimonos combine tradition with modernity, spirituality with everyday life. In the Guatemala collection, ORSKA creates jewelry and clothing that carry the memory of centuries – yet remain open to a new story, now with you as the heroine. It is a statement that fashion can be memory, and color a narrative of tradition and feminine strength.
Colorful Kimono with Red Lining – a unique garment with soul
The kimono was sewn from Guatemalan striped fabric in intense shades of red, yellow, purple, and brown. The fabric was dyed and woven in Chichicastenango, then brought to a Polish atelier, where it was crafted into a kimono with a minimalist form. The kimono features wide sleeves and a tie closure, allowing it to be easily adjusted to the silhouette. It is made in a universal size that looks beautiful on sizes from S to XL. The inside of the kimono is finished with a colorful lining in a coordinating red tone, used in the spirit of less waste. The set includes an elegant brooch made of gold-plated brass with the ORSKA logo. This limited-edition kimono is not only a garment, but also a collectible wardrobe piece. Each kimono is slightly different — no two are exactly alike.
Fabric as a language
The colorful fabrics of Guatemala are not fashion but an alphabet of memory – a record of lineage, place, and daily life. Limited kimonos are a contemporary transformation of this heritage – a manifestation of feminine presence that spans generations. Every weave tells a story that can wrap around the body. Wear it with care and add your own chapter.
How to wear the kimono
The kimono – a symbol of Japanese harmony and simplicity – becomes a canvas on which the colorful fabrics of Chichicastenango can tell their story. The contrast between its ascetic form and vibrant colors creates a universal garment that carries echoes of ceremony. In everyday life, minimalist models pair beautifully with jeans or a simple dress, adding lightness and effortless style. In winter, the kimono can replace a warm sweater, and in spring or autumn, it works as stylish outerwear. It is the essence of “dopamine color” – bringing energy and Central American joy even in the dullest months. For those who like to go against the grain, bold variations in fuchsia, yellow, and violet are available. Pair the kimono with an original Guatemala collection pin or a statement jade necklace to attract attention – and compliments – even more effectively.
