Insects in a jewelry reinterpretation – the Plantis collection
The latest edition of the Plantis collection invites you into the most orderly kingdom of nature – the world of insects, where queens have six legs, feelers instead of crowns, and their days are spent working in the heart of nature. The insects that entered the ORSKA jewelry studio amaze with their variety of forms and colors. Ladybugs, beetles, fireflies, bark beetles, and moths have taken on a new metallic form in the shape of artistic pins and earrings. Each segment, abdomen, and wing has been faithfully recreated, and the insect bodies are constructed with tiny watchmaker screws, with a precision worthy of a clockmaker... or a spider web architect. Jewelry from the Insect line not only draws attention but also reminds us of the invaluable role insects play in the natural world.
Master of webs – pin in the shape of a cross spider
The cross spider, known for its intricate webs stretched between grasses and branches, has undergone a transformation from forest architect to unique jewelry piece. The spider was crafted from brass. Its head and abdomen were oxidized to achieve a graphite finish. The spider’s distinctive legs were gold-plated, giving them a striking contrast. A characteristic golden cross-shaped marking on its back refers to the insect’s name. The spider’s body is constructed from precisely joined segments held together with small screws. These shiny screws, visible on the spider’s head, also serve as decorative eyes. The pin is secured with a clasp-back, allowing it to safely perch on a lapel, sleeve cuff, or just above a pocket.
Cross spider pin – for whom?
The cross spider pin makes an ideal gift for those who love to surprise. It will win over fans of bold and original accessories. The spider is not only a marvel of natural engineering but also a symbol of creativity and perseverance. Its web, though delicate, is one of the lightest yet strongest structures in nature. This spider-shaped pin is a thoughtful gift for artists, designers, and anyone who patiently works toward their goals while seeking creative and unconventional solutions. The cross spider pairs beautifully with other insects from the Plantis collection – combined with a moth, firefly, or scolopendra, it creates a shimmering ensemble to adorn a trench coat or blazer.
