Mother-of-Pearl “Lips” Pin

This pin was crafted entirely by hand. Balinese master artisans first carefully sculpted the shape of lips in mother-of-pearl – a traditional material on the island. Balinese carving has a history going back hundreds of years and is still practiced today by entire families of craftsmen, passing their skills down through generations. In Balinese villages, carving is more than work – it’s a ritual, done with care and calm, in harmony with the rhythms of the day and spiritual practices. The sculpted element was then set in gold-plated brass in ORSKA’s studio. The setting has a circular shape with a clearly defined eyelash-like frame. The pin is secured with a practical clutch backing.
