The second life of ceramics in the Monumental collection

The ceramics used in the latest collection are fragments of large ceramic tiles, which, due to minor imperfections, would never decorate interiors. Thanks to ORSKA's passion for upcycling, they were given a second life in line with the idea of less-waste. Unafraid to adapt a non-jewelry material to jewelry forms, ORSKA reached for the brittle but extremely durable material, which was polished by hand in the workshop. Using diamond abrasive surfaces, jewelers worked with each stone individually. This required the skill and patience characteristic of the process of faceting natural minerals. The ceramic stones prepared in this way were framed in brass and connected to geometric gold-plated elements by fine links. The Monumental collection includes several designs of long and short necklaces with striking pendants, two original bracelets for fans of modern or classically elegant solutions, the main decoration of which are components made of colorful ceramics. The collection is complemented by stud earrings and colorful ceramic pins in a gold setting.

Gold-plated tie-necklace from the Monumental collection

The long necklace was handmade from gold-plated brass. Triangular elements with soft edges and varying sizes were connected together by fine links. ORSKA jewelers artfully contrasted the forged, irregular surface of the metal with the elements with a satin finish. The fragments of the ceramics used are inspired by the patterns drawn on rocks by nature, their individual structures, compositions of colors and inclusions. As a result, each necklace differs in the type of stones used and may differ slightly from the one shown in the photos. The composition is complemented by a small ORSKA logo and a carabiner-type clasp. The necklace gives the possibility to adjust its length thanks to a few centimeter extension.
