There are no beaten paths above the clouds. There are only those we dare to designate

For Anna Orska, the change of perspective began in a Nepalese workshop, the first on the world crafts map, where her imagination encountered the knowledge of artisans raised in a completely different tradition. After 10 years, the designer returned to the same place not to recreate the past, but to see where this craft could take her today. From this reunion, mindfulness, and willingness to abandon familiar solutions, the Nepal collection was born. Millimeter by millimeter of the repoussé metal, traces of the hands that shaped it remain. The lotus became a symbol of transformation, and the rock crystals a record of the Himalayan landscape. The first step began this story. This return allowed her to set a new direction.

Wide gold-plated bracelet with plant ornaments from the Nepal collection

The richness of handcrafted ornamentation is what attracts the eye in this wide bracelet from the Nepal collection. The cuff is made of gold-plated brass and has a distinctive, geometric shape with a distinctive indentation in the center. Its surface is entwined with plant spirals and tiny leaves, hand-extracted from the metal using the repoussé technique. The winding vines symbolize growth, continuity of life, and constant rebirth, giving the bracelet a sculptural character. The bracelet slips on the wrist and is secured by a delicate chain. It is topped with a drop-shaped pendant made of labradorite, a stone of perspective change. Seemingly dark and austere, as it moves, it reveals reflections of blue, green, and gold. Its variability reminds us that new light sometimes appears only when we look at it from a different perspective.

Individual bracelets may differ slightly from the one shown in the photo in terms of the arrangement and nature of the floral motifs. These subtle differences are a natural trace of authentic craftsmanship and make each piece unique.

A hand that never repeats itself twice - how are repoussé ornaments created?

During a trip to Nepal, Anna Orska encountered in the metalwork workshops there the same tools that artisans from the Kathmandu Valley used hundreds of years ago: steel punches, hammers, and chisels of various profiles. Using these, master metalworkers shape the metal from the bottom to create a convex relief, and then refine it from the front, giving it its final character. Each decoration emerges strike by strike, millimeter by millimeter. The entire process takes several to a dozen or so hours. This is entirely handmade work, which is why no two bracelets are exactly alike – the vines, leaf shapes, and plumes vary depending on the movement of the hand, the momentary pressure of the chisel, and the angle of the blow. These subtle differences are not imperfections, but proof of authenticity.
