A carved letter from the island, for you – the Kembali collection
The Kembali jewelry collection (meaning "return" in Indonesian) is not only a sentimental journey to Bali but also a conscious turn towards craftsmanship, nature, and the spiritual depth of objects. The new line was inspired by a fascination with the human side of nature and the presence of people among it. The jewelry features the motif of lips, which are not just a sensual detail but a symbol of dialogue between the artist and the material, between humans and nature, between the spoken and the unspoken. In a world where words multiply endlessly and noise obscures meaning, Balinese jewelry carvings remind us of what is real—a voice that doesn’t shout but resonates—with soul, memory, and roots. Lips sing mantras, songs, and pass down stories from generation to generation—the new jewelry line from the Kembali collection is inspired by their power.
Necklace with a lips-shaped pendant
The necklace draws attention with a circular pendant made of dark, shiny arang wood sourced from Balinese forests. This material has been chosen by local craftsmen for generations not only because of its durability and texture that allows precise carving but also due to its noble, almost black color. Balinese masters carved the lips from this wood, which in the ORSKA workshop were set into a round pendant frame. The necklace is completed with a chain ending with an extender for adjustable length. The entire piece is made of gold-plated brass, whose shine boldly contrasts with the dark wood.
Lips as carriers of a multi-generational story
Lips enable communication, singing, the transmission of stories, prayers, and mantras. In ancient cultures, they were considered a source of power. Words could heal, protect, or transform. In African tradition, oral transmission formed the foundation of culture and collective memory, passing history and life truths from generation to generation. In Hinduism and Buddhism, mantras whispered or sung were meant to connect the body with spirituality. Balinese people still begin rituals with communal singing, and stories are passed down orally, mostly unwritten but remembered. Lips in the Kembali collection symbolize dialogue, transmission, and presence—presence among people and nature. Jewelry featuring lips makes a symbolic gift for someone who can always lift your spirits, brighten your day with a single sentence, or whose wise words guide you through life. A gift in the form of a necklace or pin with carved lips can express gratitude to someone who listens attentively and without judgment—for a mother, friend, teacher, or mentor. For a person who understands the great value of both spoken and unspoken words.
