From Bali with love – jewelry that tells a story

The new edition of the Kembali collection marks a return to the island and to one of the oldest local crafts in the region – wood carving. This time, the designer embraces this tradition to reveal the human side of nature. Instead of botanical motifs, the necklaces, earrings, and pins feature lips – not only as a literal shape, but also as a symbol and a tool for dialogue and emotional expression. Carved from local arang and sawo wood by Balinese artisans, the lips become a subtle statement of mindfulness and communication – not loud, but deeply connecting.
Each piece is created slowly, by hand, with care and intention. We send them to you like a love letter: from the island to the world, from a Balinese craftsman to the person who chooses to wear it.

Earrings with carved lips made of arang wood

These earrings are crafted from a combination of gold-plated brass and hand-carved arang wood – a signature material of Balinese craftsmanship, valued for its durability and deep, almost black color. At the center of each small earring is a pair of lips, intricately carved by skilled artisans in a family-run workshop on the island of Bali. Created in the spirit of Balinese tradition, where carving is not just a craft but a spiritual practice, the earrings were later finished in the ORSKA studio with gold-plated circular frames that emphasize the contrast between the matte natural wood and the shimmering metal. They are secured with a stud made of gold-plated silver.

Craft with soul – the art of carving in Bali

Balinese wood carving dates back hundreds of years and is still practiced by families who pass down knowledge and techniques from generation to generation. In Balinese villages, carving is not only a profession, but a ritual performed with tenderness and calm, in harmony with the rhythm of the day and spiritual practices. On Bali, wood is carved not only into ornaments but also ritual masks, architectural elements, and everyday objects. Arang wood is chosen not only for its durability but also for its density and color, perfect for highlighting detailed designs.
The Kembali jewelry collection is a contemporary interpretation of centuries-old tradition, emphasizing the beauty of the island’s nature. Each piece in the collection is made by hand, and when you wear jewelry with wooden carvings, you can feel that every element carries a piece of history – a piece of the island, where each chisel stroke is guided with care.
