From Bali with love – a new chapter of the Kembali collection
The new Kembali collection is a return to roots, a story about the dialogue between humans and nature, between artist and material, between what is spoken and what is left unspoken. This time, lips were the inspiration for the jewelry—not as a sensual accent, but as a symbol of communication and stories passed down through generations. In a world where the noise of everyday life often drowns out what truly matters, the miniature Balinese sculptures remind us that what is important and beautiful doesn’t have to be loud. Each hand-carved element is sent to you like a love letter: from the island to the world, from a Balinese craftsman to the woman who chooses to wear it. A special letter—not written on paper, but carved in wood.
Ring with lips carved from arang wood
We adorned a classic gold-plated brass band with a miniature sculpture of lips. They were carved from arang wood and create a strong focal point that captures attention and intrigues. The precisely crafted element stands out with its contrast of textures and colors: the deep, satin black of the wood meets the noble shine of gold-plated brass. Each piece is hand-carved by Balinese masters using natural materials. The art of wood carving in Bali dates back hundreds of years and is still practiced by entire families of craftsmen. In Balinese villages, carving is not only a craft but a ritual, performed with tenderness and calmness, in harmony with the rhythm of the day and spiritual practices.
Arang wood in Kembali collection jewelry
Arang wood, from which the lips in the ring are carved, is a unique material originating from Southeast Asia. Its dense, hard structure and almost black color—often streaked with lighter brown or reddish hues—make it not only durable but also decorative. It allows for the creation of very detailed, delicate designs that will endure many years in perfect condition. The Kembali collection also uses other noble sculpting materials, such as deer antlers, which are cyclically shed by animals, or sawo wood with a warm, almost reddish tone. Each material is carefully selected with respect for nature and local Balinese tradition. In the Kembali collection, small pieces of arang wood left over from making larger artistic sculptures are used to create unique jewelry. The carved elements are made in Balinese workshops, where traditions are passed down from generation to generation. Every pair of hands that touches this wood brings the history of their family and local culture into the project.
