Kembali jewelry collection: carved handicrafts

Anna Orska encapsulated motifs of island flora and fauna in jewelry forms. When designing the jewelry in the Kembali collection, she invited local masters to work with her and used the craft of carving, which in Indonesia has been passed down from generation to generation. Artisans create in local materials that have been available here for centuries. Carving is a traditional occupation that is not subject to the passage of time and has remained unchanged for hundreds of years. The carved pieces are small works of art - each was created through an individual process and took several hours to create. The pieces came from the Ubud area to the ORSKA workshop, where they were framed in snake-shaped silver and gold-plated settings.

The brooch consists of two snake-shaped decorative elements and a convenient safety pin clasp. The snake is a positive symbol in Bali - it carries the message to let go of what no longer fits us and make room for the new. The black snake was carved in Bali in the region's distinctive and highly durable arang wood. It is distinguished by its dark brown, almost black color. The carved arang wood pieces found in ORSKA jewelry are made from material left over from the process of creating larger, decorative pieces.

The second snake, densely covered with scales, was cast in brass by ORSKA jewelers. The golden snake contrasts beautifully with the black of the natural wood. The brooch was additionally gold plated, which gave it a deep and lasting color. Detailed embellishments, both on the outside and inside of the brooch, make it stand out in a crowd.

You can combine the brooch with other jewelry or replace a necklace with it, pinning it under the collar of a shirt or sweater. Such decoration will easily add variety to any styling.
