Sello -traces of humanity
Amber was formed about 40 million years ago, accumulating traces of life from that time. As a result, in its most precious specimens one can find inclusions reminiscent of a world that has passed away. If the golden stones were formed today, nature would preserve for centuries the artifacts of human activity: nails, bottle caps, and fragments of used integrated circuits. Creating jewelry from the Sello (Spanish for seal) collection, we used the most beautiful specimens of Polish amber, and where transparent amber allows you to see through, we placed our own symbols: plants and insects engraved in the gold-plated metal, but also infamous symbols of human presence. As a result, the clear stones are a time machine that allows us to look at the symbols of the past and future at the same time. By enclosing them in modern, geometric forms and placing them in the spotlight, we wanted to make us reflect on the impact of human activity on Earth. Traces of nature versus traces of mankind: will they harmonize or cause dissonance? The Sello collection reminds us that our fate is still not sealed.
Sello
Inspiring amber
Amber is the fossilized resin of coniferous trees that grew on Earth millions of years ago. This natural sea stone impresses with its color palette, as it can come in a variety of shades: from light yellow, through orange, to dark brown, green and even blue. Amber can be transparent, translucent or completely opaque, milky - the possibilities are endless, making each piece unique. This richness of color has inspired designers for years. We also draw from it in handfuls. In the latest Sello collection, we have set carefully selected Polish amber in handmade, modern, geometric forms made of gold-plated brass. And underneath the transparent stones, we left a message.
You have a message. A message written in amber.
Artistic stamps, like natural inclusions, make their mark on amber jewelry. Just as man makes his mark on nature. We juxtaposed small insects or plant fragments with symbols of homo sapiens' presence on Earth. By enclosing them in jewelry: fragments of integrated circuits, nails or bottle caps became the main character that attracts attention. We intentionally put them in the spotlight to inspire discussion and reflection on what kind of trace we leave behind, what kind of mark we leave on our planet? The Sello collection reminds us that our fate is not yet sealed.
Jewelry with amber - gold stone in the Sello collection
In the Sello collection, amber comes in geometric shapes. The natural Polish stone was polished in a family workshop in Pomerania. It was there that the irregular pieces turned into squares, rectangles, circles and semicircles, as well as cabochons. From a rich palette of colors, we chose those that are most transparent and translucent. As a result, the message engraved in the metal resounds most beautifully.
Jewelry with amber from the Sello collection - when the past meets the future
Amber has played an important role in various cultures and civilizations. It was used as an amulet and was believed to have magical and healing properties. A trade route known as the "amber route" connected the Baltic region with the Roman Empire. Amber often contains inclusions of various materials, such as insects, plants, air bubbles or other small organisms. These inclusions can provide valuable scientific information about ecosystems from millions of years ago. The history written in the amber used in the Sello jewelry collection has become the beginning of a story. In our atelier, we have added another chapter with a futuristic touch to stones from the past. In which designs do you find the author's message?
Jewelry from the Sello collection - necklaces, rings and earrings with an engraved stamp
What do asymmetrical pendant earrings, short necklaces or long necklaces with a geometric pendant from the Sello collection have in common? The message that designer Anna Orska sent in the form of original stamps. Engraved plants or insects, like natural inclusions, adorn the stones in small post earrings or openwork geometric rings. Artifacts of human activity adorn large and smaller square rings or long earrings with light and dark amber. Choose the stamp that will leave the biggest imprint on your heart.
How to wear jewelry with amber from the Sello collection?
Amber goes well with natural earth tones, such as browns, beiges, as well as shades of green and red. Amber jewelry can also be worn with white, black and gray, making it stand out and creating a distinctive look. Jewelry with amber can also be combined with different shades of blue, which will emphasize its warm color. Necklaces with amber go well with clothes made of natural fabrics, such as linen or cotton. In winter styling, they can be worn with thick sweaters and woolen scarves. The outfit can be additionally decorated with the amber pin from the Sello collection, which will attract attention and evoke compliments.
How to style jewelry with amber
Jewelry with amber can be worn every day with jeans, simple blouses and sweaters. Necklaces or earrings with this natural stone will emphasize the casualness and naturalness of a simple outfit. Amber can also be elegant, especially when combined with gold and silver jewelry. Wear bracelets and rings with amber from the Sello collection with silver earrings from the New Stone collection or combine them with a short necklace from the same collection. Such a set will be a perfect addition to evening dresses and classic suits.
Jewelry with amber vs. natural stones
Amber combined with other natural stones will create unique and interesting combinations. Combine amber with jewelry with black onyx from the Parer collection to let its golden brilliance shine to the fullest. For asymmetrical earrings from the Sello collection, you can add a short necklace - a necklace and a matching bracelet with onyx and pearls. You can also wear jewelry with amber in duet with diamonds. Perfectly polished stones, which can be found, for example, in rings from the Verum collection, will harmoniously match with polished amber. On the other hand, the rough, irregular diamonds that formed the striking necklaces in the Verum collection will contrast with the clarity of the stones in the Sello collection. The gold stone will also look good in the company of colorful natural stones: pink quartz, lemon jade or blue amazonite. A whole rainbow of natural minerals can be found in the Gelato collection or in some designs from the Bery collection. Combining them with jewelry from the Sello collection will allow you to build a boho-style look that will emphasize the ethnic and natural character of amber.
