Return to the cradle of metalwork - Crafts of the World

After years, Anna Orska returned to Nepal, the place where it all began. And to the people who made that first step the beginning of something greater. Returning was a test of how experience changes perspective. From above, things regain their proper proportions, and a familiar landscape can reveal paths previously unseen. The new collection was created to the rhythm of hammer and chisel. In the repoussé metal, each ornament retains the subtle differences resulting from the movement of the craftsman's hand. "There is no path in the sky," says a verse from the Dhammapada, which accompanied the designer on this journey. However, there are encounters that point the way. And returns that allow us to understand where the first step led.

Hand-decorated gold-plated bracelet from the Nepal collection

The bracelet is made of irregular gold-plated brass elements, connected by movable links. The surface of each bracelet is covered with winding vines symbolizing the energy of life, its continuity, and the constant path toward change. A smoothly cut labradorite is set in the centerpiece. The perspective-changing stone shimmers in shades of blue, green, and gold as it moves, reminding us that even the familiar can reveal a new dimension when viewed from a different perspective. The bracelet features an extension cord for adjusting its circumference, topped with a charm bearing the ORSKA logo.

Repussage in Nepal - a craft between heaven and earth

Repussage is a craft at which the Newars of the Kathmandu Valley are considered the most proficient in the world. The decorations are created using chisels and hammers, with which local craftsmen strike the floral patterns from the inside, creating raised patterns on the surface of the metal elements. The next stage of the process is chiseling, which refines the ornamentation on the front, bringing out details, and deepening the lines. From the Kathmandu Valley, the decorated elements were brought to the ORSKA studio, where jewelers transformed them into bracelets, necklaces, earrings and rings.
