For centuries, the Japanese have paused beneath blooming cherry trees to consciously experience something that will soon pass. From the tradition of mono no aware-a deep appreciation of the fleeting nature of beauty-emerged the latest chapter of the Plantis collection. Blooming sakura, or ornamental cherry trees, captivate intensely yet very briefly. Their petals fall before we have time to grow accustomed to them, leaving behind something difficult to name: a kind of tenderness toward the passing moment. Brooches, earrings, and necklaces from this collection are designed to preserve the awareness that the moments of blooming and fading are precious precisely because they flow and pass. Cherry blossom branch - statement brooch from the Plantis collection

This statement brooch was handcrafted in our jewelry studio. The cherry branch was cast from brass and then coated with a layer of gold. On the branch’s satin-finish surface, jewelers attached six cherry blossoms with meticulous precision using tiny jewelry screws. The flowers vary in size and shades of pink. At the center of each flower sparkles a synthetic crystal. The ends of the branch are adorned with gold-plated round buds, catching the sunlight as if waiting to bloom. The brooch fastens with a pin clasp.

Jewelry as a study of nature

The creation process of Plantis jewelry mirrors the rhythm of nature. Just as a flower begins as a small bud, in the ORSKA workshop everything starts from a sketch by designer Anna Orska. In this sketch, the shape is born, proportions are defined, and the rhythm and direction of the design are set. The next stage resembles the bud’s maturation. In the workshop, petals are twisted using jewelry screws, giving the piece a look reminiscent of Japanese origami. The moment of full bloom—the culmination—is achieved when color is applied.
