Crafts of the World – jade jewelry collection

For the past 10 years, designer Anna Orska has traveled the world in search of unique crafts. To showcase artisan traditions from different parts of the world, she creates collections that capture the cultural richness and craftsmanship of local handwork. In her latest journey, ORSKA visited Guatemala, where past and present intertwine with the rhythm of local life. The inspiration for the Guatemala jewelry collection was jade — a stone in shades of green, white, black, and pink, which for the Maya symbolized balance and protection. The jade jewelry collection is complemented by fabrics woven in Guatemala — in Maya culture, women tell the story of their family, beliefs, and traditions through multicolored weaving. These fabrics and patterns live and speak. In this collection, fabric strands were set as wide bracelets. A limited series of multicolored kimonos was also created, allowing a momentary escape to the vibrant yet peaceful surroundings of Guatemala.

Small round pin with light green jade

The focal point of this small pin from the Guatemala collection is a polished round jade cabochon. The stone has a subtle light green shade, with a smooth, high-gloss surface. Within the jade, numerous inclusions and fluid transitions of green tones can be seen. The jade is set in gold-plated brass, which surrounds it. The edges of the brass frame have a brushed finish that contrasts with the stone’s shine. The pin is secured with a convenient clasp.

The collection uses natural jade, which may vary slightly in shade depending on the piece, making each pin unique.
