Aurora is jewelry inspired by the dance of the northern lights. The main stars of the collection are raw tourmalines shimmering in every shade – from vivid greens, through pinks and purples, to extraordinary watermelon hues. Each stone is unique, and its irregular shape is highlighted by a hand-designed setting in gold-plated silver. The collection is complemented by blue aquamarines and transparent Herkimer diamonds with inclusions of gold and graphite. A striking contrast is provided by the deep black schorl – a tourmaline that resembles the night sky before it is illuminated by the aurora. In the Aurora necklace, the eye is drawn to the raw texture of the stones in a deep black shade. Natural, unpolished tourmalines are individually set – each in its own silver frame, emphasizing the characteristic irregularities of its shape and surface. This approach gives the collection its uniqueness, as jewelry typically uses standardized, repetitive settings. The stones used in the Aurora collection come from Rajasthan, where they were crafted in a small, family-run jewelry workshop. Anna Orska met the owners during a design trip to India. The stones were cleaved, not polished, preserving their original character and irregular, raw forms. Cleaved black tourmalines, also known as schorls, form a striking strand finished with an adjustable extender and a pendant in the shape of the ORSKA logo, allowing the necklace length to be customized. The silver in this necklace has been oxidized, giving it a mysterious graphite tone that harmonizes with the dark stones.
