The sky is not the limit

In Nepal, the blue sky, clouds, and wind become a symbol of crossing borders - geographical, creative, and interpersonal. They remind us that every new path begins where the familiar ends. Nepal was the first step. The first workshop outside of Poland, the first experience of creating together with craftsmen raised in a completely different tradition. It was there that the dream of creating beyond borders began to take shape. Returning to the same place after many years is a return to the source of this story and to the people who made that first step the beginning of something greater.

Rigid, hand-decorated bracelet from the Nepal collection

The bracelet is shaped like a partially rigid hoop encircling the wrist. Crafted in Nepal from alpaca, it was then silver-plated and oxidized in a jewelry workshop, giving it its distinctive graphite color. Its entire surface is covered with repoussé ornaments. The vines and plant plumes were hand-stamped into the metal by master metalworkers from a Nepalese workshop. The bracelet has a chain with a clasp to prevent it from slipping off the wrist. The ORSKA logo is attached to the chain.

Each bracelet is handmade, and the decorations may vary in detail, individual hammer blows, or chisel strokes, a symbolic signature of the craftsman who poured their heart into creating these hand-crafted ornaments.

How are the repoussé ornaments in the jewelry from the Nepal collection created?

Before a craftsman from the Kathmandu Valley is able to carve an intricate ornament on their own, they spend many years in the workshop. Repoussé is considered one of the most difficult metalworking techniques, requiring precision and a trained eye. The pattern is created gradually, through hundreds, and sometimes thousands, of blows of hammers and chisels of various sizes, struck into brass from its inner side, long before the decorated element reaches our ORSKA workshop and turns into necklace, bracelet, ring or brooch. It is this effort, invisible at first glance, that makes the jewelry from the Nepal collection a record of the work and years of experience of artisans from a region where this craft is still alive. Because each ornament is hand-crafted, no piece of jewelry is duplicated. If you want to learn more about this technique, please visit the Crafts of the World tab.

Repusement bracelet in styles

The unisex bracelet from the Nepal collection combines a decisive, geometric form with the soft rhythm of hand-repusement ornaments. Wear it solo as a striking accent with a white shirt, black sweater, suit or denim, or pair it with a watch, simple chains and leather straps. The graphite finish makes it easy to match both feminine and masculine styles, and pairs perfectly with other designs from the Nepal collection: the repoussé signet ring, the coral bracelet, or the unique Himalayan crystal necklace.
