Return to Bali - carved jewelry from the Kembali collection
Anna Orska regularly goes on expeditions in search of rare and unique crafts. So far, she has visited, among others, lacquer workshops in Vietnam, metalwork workshops in Morocco and the last crystal glass factory in Poland. She wrote the next chapter of her travel story on the Indonesian island, returning to its bosom after nearly eight years since her first trip. Her first visit to Bali did not exhaust her artistic potential. When the familiar place proved unfamiliar, the designer decided to return to her Balinese roots: nature, craftsmanship and ritual. The Kembali jewelry collection owes its name to the Indonesian language, in which it means “return”. Jewelry with a motif of Balinese flora and fauna is meant to remind us that returning to nature should become our most important ritual.
Gold-plated necklace with carved scarab pendant
The white scarab on the ORSKA medallion was carved in Bali. Local artists, who learned the traditional craft from their ancestors, carved each piece in an individual process that took up to several hours. From the Ubud area, the carved scarabs made their way to the ORSKA workshop, where they were framed in gold-plated brass. In addition, a design with a snake skin motif was engraved on the back of the pendant. The snake is a positive symbol in Bali, so it also appeared in a jewelry version in the Kembali collection. The unique pendant is suspended on a gold-plated box chain. The whole is finished with a round ORSKA logo, a pendant with the engraved inscription "Limited Edition," and a convenient lobster claw clasp. The extension allows the necklace to be fastened at two lengths.
Scarab in the Kembali jewelry collection
The scarab is commonly associated with ancient Egypt, but it also has symbolic significance in Hinduism, where it is seen as a symbol of life, transformation and spiritual development. It is combined with the sun and life energy - the laborious work of the scarab is identified with the rolling of the brightest star into the sky. The carved scarab in the Kembali jewelry collection can be found in silver and gold-plated limited edition necklaces. Jewelry with a scarab looks great solo, but it will look the most striking when paired with other designs from the Kembali jewelry collection. The short necklace with a carved scarab can easily be combined with the unique snake brooch or carved floral pins.
Jewelry packaging from the Kembali collection
