Aurora Jewelry Collection - Light Captured in Stone
Aurora is jewelry inspired by the dance of the northern lights. The main highlight of the collection is raw tourmalines shimmering in a spectrum of colors - from vibrant greens, through pinks and purples, to extraordinary “watermelon” hues. Each stone is unique, its irregular form emphasized by a hand-crafted setting made of gold-plated sterling silver. The collection is complemented by cool aquamarines and transparent Herkimer diamonds with golden and graphite inclusions. As a striking counterpoint, the deep black of schorl - a variety of tourmaline that resembles the night sky before the aurora begins to glow - balances the palette. Aurora is where the wildness of the earth meets the colors of the sky. Jewelry unlike any other, created for those who believe that nature is the greatest artist.
Drop Earrings with Pink and Purple Tourmalines from the Aurora Collection
These earrings feature English lock clasps made of 925 gold-plated silver, adorned with multicolored tourmalines. At the very top, near the closure, sit rubellites - tourmalines in a delicate pink-purple hue. Just below, deep green verdelites draw the eye with their bottle-green shade. The composition is completed by amber-colored dravites. The tourmalines used in the Aurora collection come from Rajasthan, where they were processed in a small, family-run jewelry workshop. Designer Anna Orska met the workshop owners during a design journey to India. The stones were not faceted but split, preserving their original character and raw, irregular forms. Each was individually set in gold-plated silver. This approach makes the collection truly unique, as jewelry-making typically relies on standardized, repeatable settings.
In nature, no two tourmalines are the same, and so no two pairs of earrings will ever be identical. The stones may vary slightly in shape, size, and shade, ensuring that each pair is original and one of a kind.
Tourmalines - Gemstones of Many Colors and Energies
For centuries, tourmalines have been attributed with diverse properties. The verdelite - green tourmaline - featured in these earrings is seen as a symbol of balance and renewal. It can serve as a talisman for those entering a new stage of life, seeking harmony, or simply in need of a breath of fresh energy. Pink and purple shades (rubellites and sibirites) are associated with tenderness and empathy. Some believe they bring courage in relationships and strengthen bonds, making jewelry with pink tourmalines a thoughtful anniversary gift. Brown dravites, with their sandy or amber tones, are said to have a soothing effect, transforming negative energy into positive thoughts.
And even if you don’t believe in the rich symbolism of tourmalines, earrings with these multicolored gemstones remain a beautiful adornment - eye-catching pieces that never fail to attract admiration and compliments.
