The whole is decorated with brass pendant in the shape of a wintergreen boxwood leaves of actual size. The collection of artistic jewelry from Bali

The latest jewelry collection is the result of a journey that takes us back not only to a place, but more importantly to a traditional craft and the people behind it. Kembali, from the Indonesian language, means return. The collection was designed in Bali and, in the case of the carved pieces, also made by local masters. In creating the concept for the Kembali jewelry collection, Anna Orska reached for important local symbols inspired by the island's flora and fauna. Thus, the collection features flowers of hibiscus, lotus, chrysanthemums and roses, as well as scarabs and snakes.

The bracelet was handmade at the ORSKA workshop. The jewelers cast the snake from brass, paying attention to accurately reproduce the structure of its skin, densely covered with scales. They then molded the snake into a closed hoop. The whole piece was finished on the sides with a few centimeter extension, a fine ORSKA logo and a hinge mechanism. The jewelry was additionally gold-plated, which gave it a deep and lasting color. Thanks to the snake ornamentation on both the outside and inside of the bracelet, the ethnic design received a contemporary and elegant touch.

Snake or Ode in the Kembali jewelry collection

In Hinduism it was associated with a god, in Christianity with satan, and since ancient Greek times it has also been a symbol of revival of vitality and recovery. Ode, which means snake, evokes positive associations. That is why it became the main character of the collection. Decorating almost every jewelry design with a snake motif, ORSKA wanted to bring positive associations into our cultural circle in a symbolic way. You will find the snake motif in both a short hibiscus necklace and hanging earrings with a lotus flower. The most striking, however, will be the jewelry in which the snake is the only star: a double ring, which impressively wraps around the fingers; a wide ring, and a bracelet, necklace and long earrings made of snake-shaped links. Ode - the snake of Bali

In Bali, the dominant religion is Hinduism, in which snakes have rich symbolism. They are considered guardians of sacred sites, treasures and water sources. They embody wisdom, immortality and vitality. The snake foreshadows transformation, which is supposed to lead to better things. It is a metaphor for the closed cycle of life and death. It carries the message to let go of what no longer fits us and make room for the new. Although in the Christian religion the snake is associated with temptation, in European culture it can also be recognized as a symbol of doctors and apothecaries, which has been a symbol of recovery since ancient Greece (the Aesculapius snake). Crafts of the world - back to Bali

Designer Anna Orska regularly travels the world in search of rare, often extinct crafts and locally distinctive materials. She interprets the local aesthetics of traditional crafts according to her own sensibilities, but always in harmony with the culture and values of her fellow masters. Her first visit to Bali did not exhaust her artistic potential and resulted in another visit, after a break of eight years. The familiar place proved unfamiliar, so the designer decided to base her new collection on the Balinese roots: nature, crafts and rituals. The Kembali collection owes its name to the Indonesian language and means return. Jewelry with a motif of the island's flora and fauna is meant to remind us that returning to nature should become our most important ritual.

Then they formed it into a hoop, thanks to which the jewelry animal can impressively wrap around the wrist. The whole piece was finished with a few centimeter extension, a fine ORSKA logo and a convenient hinge mechanism. The jewelry was additionally oxidized, which gave it an original graphite color. Thanks to the attention to the snake-like ornamentation both on the outside and inside of the bracelet, the ethnic design received an elegant twist.

The snake bracelet was handmade. The intricately decorated beads were carved for several hours in rose wood by Balinese artists. From the Indonesian island they made their way to the ORSKA atelier, where jewelers assembled them into an ornate cord, adorned with hematite beads. The whole composition was finished with gold-plated brass elements: a convenient lobster claw clasp, a pendant with the engraved inscription "Limited Edition" and the ORSKA logo. Particularly noteworthy is the snake's head with finely crafted eyes and a mouth that shows a gold-plated tongue.

Snake - the animal of kundalini

The snake, as an animal of the Element of Fire, is sometimes considered a sign of passion. It is a symbol of kundalini - the sexual, but also creative life force of man. It can be seen as a guide on the way to higher levels of consciousness and intuition. So if it appears in life it can herald an intense development of the creative side and creativity. The snake adorns many of the jewelry designs in the Kembali collection and is its dominant motif. You'll find it in both a short hibiscus necklace and hanging earrings with a lotus flower. The Stone of the Future in the New Stone jewelry collection

The New Stone artistic jewelry collection was born out of a reflection on the state in which we want to leave the planet to our successors. For the sake of the Earth's future, the production of the new can be replaced by processing what is already available. Because what do we have in excess? The answer is simple: waste. So if we want to make a real difference, we should focus our attention on seemingly inconspicuous raw materials. In line with this idea, the synthetic New Stone gem was created. Although small in size, it can inspire others to create boldly. Post-industrial plastic along with silver filings (leftovers from metal processing at ORSKA) was subjected to experimental processing, resulting in a distinctive dark stone with shiny particles. All this to give this material a unique second life.

The bracelet was made from irregular links of various sizes. The silver hoops are decorated with a pendant with a synthetic stone called New Stone, which is the result of our collaboration with the team of enthusiasts at Boomplastic. The Stone of the Future was created from post-industrial plastic. The dark shiny gem with silver flakes looks striking and is surprisingly lightweight. The jewelry in this collection calls for reflection on the overproduction of single-use plastics. The "made by Homo Sapiens" stamp adorning the bracelet is meant to serve as a daily reminder of our responsibility for the welfare of the planet.

Upcycling in the world of jewelry 

Designer Anna Orska often gives unobvious and forgotten materials a second, better life. Following the idea of upcycling, she transformed post-industrial plastic into a gem that adds character to many everyday looks. Likewise for the jewelry in the Baltica collection, where she juxtaposed natural amber with a synthetic stone made from fishing nets found at the bottom of the Baltic Sea. In addition, she turned leather scraps from the production of handbags from a befriended workshop into small works of art: hand-tattooed necklaces, bracelets and earrings. In this way, the jewelry is not only a beautiful decoration, but also a symbol of environmental responsibility.

Old Plastic, New Stone

Plastic is an easy material to produce, but when it needs to be disposed of or recycled, it becomes quite a challenge. The New Stone collection by ORSKA draws attention to excess plastic and its short life, after which it ends up in landfills, creating mountains of unnecessary waste. Our way to reincarnate this problematic material is to turn it into a synthetic gem called New Stone. The black stone was made from recycled plastic. Some of the jewelry in the New Stone collection was stamped with the "made by Homo Sapiens” seal. The slogan is meant to remind us of our impact on the state of our Planet.

The rough, wavy form of the bracelet from the New Stone collection is the first thing that catches the eye. The irregular finish and shiny edges of the bracelet resemble natural rocks emerging amidst waves. Out of this calm metallic tone emerges a centrally placed dark stone, on the surface of which metal particles shine. It was created by processing post-industrial plastic. The silver filings come from the ORSKA workshop and are waste from metal processing. The silver bracelet is inscribed with the words “made by Homo Sapiens", which reminds us of the stone's origin.

The Stone of the Future sheds light on the problem of overproduction of plastic, which too often ends up in landfills or waterways after a single use. The unique material, however, required a unique setting. ORSKA jewelers reached for cast silver, giving the handmade jewelry a fluid, irregular shape. The form evokes the waters of the seas and oceans, which too often become a dumping ground for plastic waste. The silver jewelry from the New Stone collection is an artistic hybrid of irregular, rough texture and rawness with a brilliant shine and polished surface. The ambers were combined with Mare stones in green-black tones, which were made from recycled fishing ropes and nets fished from the bottom of the Baltic Sea. The ambers were polished in a family workshop on the Vistula Spit, and then went to the ORSKA workshop in Poznań, where they received brass settings and a modern twist. What determines the color of amber?

About 60 varieties of amber are known in the world. They differ from each other in date of creation and composition, but it is useful to know the basic division due to the different colors of the raw materials.  Amber comes in all shades of brown and yellow. "Gold of the Baltic" initially takes on a light yellow color, similar to the color of fresh resin. The older the amber gets, the darker color it reaches, up to a tea color. This is the result of exposure to the sun, temperature and air. The longer the exposure to these factors, the darker the stone becomes. A growing concern about what we will leave behind for future generations has inspired ORSKA to develop the concept of reincarnation of post-industrial plastic, which has undergone experimental treatment. As a result of this process, a synthetic stone was created, which is the heart of the New Stone collection. The lightweight black block with rainbow-like shimmer and texture reminiscent of crystallization known from natural minerals was made of processed plastic with addition of brass filings from ORSKA jewellery studio. The impressive bracelet was created from a combination of links with irregular lines and wavy structure. The bracelet has been stamped with a seal, indicating its origin – ‘made by Homo Sapiens’ – being a reminder that our works are also our responsibility.

A growing concern about what we will leave behind for future generations has inspired ORSKA to develop the concept of reincarnation of post-industrial plastic, which has undergone experimental treatment. As a result of this process, a synthetic stone was created, which is the heart of the New Stone collection. The lightweight black block with rainbow-like shimmer and texture reminiscent of crystallization known from natural minerals was made of processed plastic with addition of brass filings from ORSKA jewellery studio. The impressive stiff bracelet with irregular lines and wavy structure has been stamped with a seal, indicating its origin – ‘made by Homo Sapiens’ – being a reminder that our works are also our responsibility.
