Jewelry from the Minakari collection – you decide what you want to show

The tradition of Indian Minakari jewelry is based on the belief that the value of what is hidden is equal to the value of what is visible. The Minakari collection draws on this idea. Each piece is multifaceted: enamel covers not only the front and back, but also the edges of the decorative pendants and earrings, creating a fully sculptural form beautiful from every perspective. Many designs in this collection have two sides. One is always visible – it can reflect your strength, elegance, or subtlety, depending on who you want to be today. The other faces inward and, if you so desire, can remain private, intimate, and hidden. You decide which side you want to show.

Asymmetric round earrings with lotus and floral patterns

These small stud earrings are crafted from gold-plated silver adorned with mineral enamel in shades of green and blue. The pair is asymmetrical. The first earring depicts a green lotus flower, known in Indian culture as Kamal. It is a symbol of purity, rebirth, and spiritual enlightenment. This motif has also been associated with feminine energy for centuries. The second earring features a delicate floral motif: a flower and vines symbolizing joy, growth, fertility, and the timeless beauty of nature. Green ornaments also cover the sides and back of the earrings, making the jewelry stunning from every angle. The asymmetry of this pair is no accident; it gives the design a unique character and makes it eye-catching.

How is minakari made?

Minakari is the Persian art of decorating metal with colorful enamel, the name of which refers to the sky and the work of the craftsman's hands. It requires patience, experience, and extraordinary precision – creating a single piece can take up to dozens of hours! The process begins with hand-engraving a pattern on the metal surface. Powdered minerals are then applied to the resulting recesses, which, after firing, transform into a glassy, shimmering enamel. The work is done in stages, with each color being cured separately at a very high temperature. Successive layers create an effect of depth and delicate tonal transitions. The colors subtly react to light, changing their character depending on the perspective. It is this multidimensionality that makes minakari captivating with its lightness and exceptional color intensity. You can find more about the designer's trip to India and the secrets of this technique in the "Crafts of the World" tab.
