ORSKA
Double-Sided Silver Jewelry with Email

TWO SIDES. YOUR MEANING.

Anna Orska’s inner compass pointed India as the destination of her next design journey. In Rajasthan, the designer fell in love with minakari — the traditional art of decorating engraved metal with colorful enamel, practiced for over 2,500 years. In intimate workshops, Indian masters spent countless hours creating delicate, richly ornamented components, which we then transformed into silver and gold-plated jewelry. Each piece is subtle, precise, and deeply personal, as it has two sides. One is always visible, while the other can be worn close to the skin, like a secret. In Indian tradition, true beauty is believed to mature in secrecy rather than in display. The Minakari collection continues this tradition, placing it in your hands — you decide which side to reveal and which to keep only for yourself.

A Journey That Became Jewelry

In her search for the world’s most exceptional workshops, Anna Orska arrived in Rajasthan, India. This place resembles a dense network of labyrinths with invisible access codes. Without knowing them, it is difficult to reach your destination. You have to ask, search, and spread information. The most recommended places often have no addresses or signs. They do not appear on maps. The only source of knowledge is people - their stories, experiences, and recommendations.
It was this invisible network that led the designer to jewelry workshops where precious stones are cut and set, creating wedding jewelry of extraordinary value. Yet her attention was drawn elsewhere - to craftsmanship deeply rooted in culture, authentic and passed down through generations. This is how she found her way to minakari studios.

Minakari - The Art of Hidden Beauty

Minakari is the oldest enameling technique in the world, with a history spanning more than 2,500 years. It is one of the most complex jewelry-making processes, involving many masters and artisans, each specializing in a different stage of production. It is a collective work, carried out in a precise sequence across several workshops. Jewelry elements travel from place to place before reaching their final form.
The process begins with preparing silver components - they must be solid and thick so that engraving does not compromise their structure. Artisans then hand-carve patterns, creating cavities of varying depth to hold the enamel. Colorful enamel is applied by hand, and each shade requires a separate firing at a carefully controlled temperature. After every firing, the pieces are cleaned in a natural solution made from soap nuts and then polished.
This cycle is repeated many times - layer upon layer - allowing the colors to gain depth and durability. Although applying enamel may resemble delicate painting, it is an exceptionally demanding technique. Combining enamel with engraving requires precision comparable to surgical work and absolute concentration.

Minakari Jewelry - You Decide What You Reveal

Thanks to her deep understanding of this craft, Anna Orska was able to design necklaces, earrings, rings, and bracelets that reflect the most distinctive elements of Indian minakari tradition: rich ornamentation, symbolic colors, and double-sided forms.
Each necklace can be worn in two ways - revealing or concealing colorful minakari, graphic black, gold or silver surfaces, lace-like enamel, or expressive accents of kundla glass, a characteristic Indian material. This is our most delicate and subtle collection. Every piece is precise, refined, and intimate - with one side for the eyes and another for the heart, worn like a secret.
The choice is yours: what you reveal to the world and what you keep hidden.

What Do the Symbols in the Minakari Collection Mean?

The Minakari collection preserves the symbolism of patterns and colors drawn directly from nature, which for centuries has served as a map of meaning for artisans.

Leaves and Vines - The Symbolism of Connection

Leaves and vines have long told stories of bonds - both spoken and unspoken. They intertwine, grow in shared rhythm, and teach patience and trust. They symbolize relationships that mature over time, take deep root, and endure despite change. They represent connection with others, with nature, and with oneself. This motif can be found, for example, in the necklace with a pendant on rutile quartz cords from the Minakari collection.

The Lotus - A Symbol of Inner Transformation

The lotus, known as the flower of the soul, grows from silence and depth to bloom in the light. It carries a story of purity, renewal, and inner strength. It reminds us that beauty can emerge even from the most modest beginnings. It symbolizes calm, conscious transformation leading toward harmony. The lotus adorns, among others, the pendant of a delicate necklace from the Minakari collection.

Green - The Color of Balance and Vitality

Green brings balance and the pulse of life into this story. It evokes the breath of nature, the tranquility of gardens, and the rhythm of growth. It is the color of regeneration, hope, and renewal. It reminds us to pause, return to our center, and draw strength from harmony with our surroundings. Green appears, for example, in soft gold bracelets, delicate rings, and necklaces with double-sided pendants.

Blue - The Color of Protection and Calm

Blue has long been regarded as the color of the sky and infinity. In Eastern cultures, it symbolizes protection, spiritual care, and inner peace. It envelops like an invisible shield, offering a sense of security and trust in one’s path. It is the color of silence, reflection, and deep breath. Blue dominates in delicate hanging earrings and can also be found in minakari rings.

Black - The Color of Mystery and Depth

Black holds the mystery of existence. It is the space of the unspoken, the unseen, and the hidden beneath the surface. It symbolizes depth, elegance, and strength that needs no display. It reminds us that what matters most often remains in shadow - accessible only to those who look closely. Black details stand out in contrast with silver in rings, delicate bands, and hanging earrings.

How to Wear Minakari Jewelry

The MINAKARI collection was created to be worn on your own terms. Its greatest strength lies in choice. Each piece has two sides, and you decide which one you show to the world. By turning the jewelry, you change its meaning - one day making it visible, another keeping it only for yourself. You can wear Minakari bracelets, necklaces, earrings, and rings as a statement or as a secret. There is no single right way - only yours. Minakari jewelry was not created to follow trends. It was created to follow you. Your rhythm, your mood, your story. It does not impose a style - it co-creates it. With you. Every day anew.
