Jewelry from the Minakari Collection - You decide what to show
In India, jewelry often had two sides: one adorned with gems, the other with minakari. This richer, ornate part often remained closer to the skin, invisible - in keeping with the belief that true beauty doesn't have to be for the eyes, it is enough for the heart. The Minakari jewelry collection continues this tradition, but puts it in your hands. Delicate silver elements are decorated on both sides. You decide which side you show the world and which you keep to yourself. By reversing the jewelry, you change its meaning: one day you wear it as a statement, the next as an intimate secret. Minakari bracelets, necklaces, earrings, and rings adapt to you, not the other way around.
A striking necklace with silver pendants
This striking necklace is made of a string of faceted onyx stones, complemented by small, bright pearls right at the clasp. The necklace is adorned with six double-sided silver pendants. On one side, the pendants are adorned with black and powder-pink floral ornaments crafted by Indian masters from Rajasthan using the minakari technique. On the other side, the pendants are adorned with black kundan glass, high-quality cut Indian glass set in silver. The combination of onyxes, pearls, and enameled pendants creates a rich, multi-layered composition.
Double-sided Minakari necklaces - style it your way!
Necklaces from the Minakari collection can be worn with the colorful ornament side—full of energy and life—paired with bright, monochromatic sweatshirts, linen shirts, or minimalist dresses. When you change your style or mood, simply flip the pendant to the black kundan glass side—elegant and subdued, perfect for evening wear, black turtlenecks, or classic blazers. Minakari necklaces complement other elements of the collection beautifully. You can pair them with rosette stud earrings or long, asymmetric earrings from the same collection, creating cohesive yet original sets. They look equally good with bracelets with silver pendants or rings with colored enamel. If you like to combine different collections, you can also pair Minakari jewelry with a striking jade necklace from the Guatemala collection. The reversibility of the necklaces means that one design gives you two options. You can change its character depending on your mood, the occasion, and who you want to be that day.
How is minakari made?
Minakari is an ancient Persian technique of decorating metal with colored enamel. The name comes from the words "mina" (sky) and "kari" (work), literally meaning "sky-colored work." Engraved gold or silver is covered with mineral glazes and fired in a kiln, solidifying the patterns with intense colors. Since the 16th century, this technique has evolved in India, gaining even more vibrant colors, elaborate geometric motifs, forms, and patterns inspired by nature. Minakari is layered. Each color is applied and fired separately, creating subtle color transitions. This gives the patterns depth and changes in the light, as if they were "alive" depending on the viewing angle.
